How much Benadryl should I give my baby?

Hello ! I am going on a trip and want to bring some benadryl for children as a precaution. I would like to know what dose to give to a 16 month old, 20lbs baby. Thank you!

Good morning, ma'am,
The dose of Benadryl for a child is 1.25 mg of medication per kg of your child's weight, approximately every 6 hours (4 times per 24 hour period). For a child weighing 9 kg, this is equivalent to 11.25 mg of medicine
The child's product is concentrated at 6.25mg/5ml, which gives 9ml of solution every 6 hours if needed.
With this in mind, keep in mind that Benadryl is reserved for use on rashes over a large area of the body (or the entire body). For localized or small lesions, a fragrance-free moisturizer like Aveeno is usually preferred.
I would suggest always consulting a health care professional before to give Benadryl.
I hope I've been helpful and remain available if you have any further questions!
