I would like to know if anemia could be the cause of my hair loss?

Hello, for the last few weeks I've had big headaches and I felt really tired (I was taking 5 hour naps during the day), I was also really dizzy and I noticed a big hair loss. I had blood work done last week and I still have intense anemia (Hb 81 g/L and ferritin 1.4 ug/L). I just received my first iron transfusion a few days ago and I will have another iron transfusion in 1 week.

Hello Mrs, Yes, anemia has been associated with hair loss, but the cause and effect relationship is not very strong since anemia alone does not explain hair loss in everyone. I would assume that your blood tests have looked for other deficiencies or deficiencies. That being said, if anemia is one of the causes of your hair loss, this should be alleviated following treatment.
