Will advil infant help reduce the cough? What else can I do?

My 9 month old baby coughs at 20 seconds and makes a seal sound. No draft, no fever. I put the bed at an angle/nasal hygiene 4 times a day minimum, we went outside 15 minutes.

Hello ma'am, when did you first notice this? Does nasal hygiene help relieve the cough? Is the cough mostly at bedtime?

It's been in bed for 2 days and no, hygiene doesn't make a difference!

Thank you for the information, I'm sorry for the delay in my reply, I hadn't seen the notification!
Unfortunately Advil is only effective for pain (and inflammation) and fever and has no effect on cough. I strongly suggest nasal hygiene as often as necessary and at least 30 minutes before bedtime, followed by aspiration of secretions with a baby fly. This is the best way to prevent sinus secretions from falling down the throat, especially when lying down, like a leaky faucet.
Encourage your child to drink often, even if it means giving smaller amounts often.
If symptoms persist for more than a week without improvement or get worse, a doctor should be consulted for a thorough evaluation and to avoid delaying proper treatment, if necessary.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, Pharmacist
