Hello, Acne is an uncomfortable skin problem that unfortunately can persist over the years. It is more present during adolescence, but some adults will also be affected. Acne can be related to hormones, but there are many other factors involved (inflammation, bacteria, skin type). The contraceptive pill does have a beneficial effect on acne. In fact, some people take it only for that reason. So when you stopped taking it, you lost this beneficial effect and the acne reappeared. This does not mean that the cause of your acne is only hormonal, but only that the pill was controlling the problem.
