Hello, my 4 year old son has had a temperature for 24 hours (39.3) and it is not going down. I wonder if I give him the right dose of acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Would it be possible to calculate the dose for me. He weighs 30lbs. He has no history of any allergies and is not on any medication. I give him 6 bottles of sinus rinse a day (clear secretions) and he doesn't complain of anything else.

Good evening Madam
the dose of acetaminophen 160 mg/5ml for a weight of about 13.5 kg is 6 ml every 4 to 6 hours for a maximum of 5 times per 24 hours
It is also 6ml of ibuprofen, every 6 to 8 hours, max 4 times per 24 hours.
It is not recommended to combine or alternate Advil and Tylenol. One of the two should be enough on its own.
