Do I absolutely need to have a paper from my doctor to change pharmacies since I have morphine prescribed?

Hello, I live in Quebec City and I would like to change pharmacies but I have controlled medications such as morphine so I was wondering if I could change pharmacies whenever I want or if I need a paper from the doctor. The last time I changed pharmacies was 5 years ago.

Hello, You do not need a doctor's authorization to transfer narcotics or controlled drugs from one pharmacy to another. You can go to the pharmacy of your choice. Please note that a narcotic prescription must always be transferred in its entirety. The total amount of morphine in your prescription will be transferred to your new pharmacy.
