Pain and nausea after receiving the vaccine?

23-year-old woman3 years ago
Hello, I was vaccinated yesterday, at 9am around 3pm I was already nauseous and vomiting. Then around 9pm I managed to fall asleep, however this morning when I woke up my arm was very sore and around 3pm in the afternoon I was still vomiting.

Hello Madam, thank you for your question!
Sorry to read about your troubles, nausea is a possible side effect following the administration of a vaccine. However, it usually does not last more than 2 to 3 days following the administration of the vaccine, and tends to subside fairly quickly.
If you have no contraindications to taking it, Gravol (dimenhydrinate) is a good solution to reduce nausea
I also invite you for this day and the next, to favor light foods such as soups, broths, bread, brown rice, and to avoid very fatty or very sweet foods such as red meat, because these can increase nausea.
Be sure to stay hydrated, taking 1 sip of fluid every 3 to 5 minutes (do not drink too quickly as this can also trigger nausea).
For arm pain, acetaminophen (Tylenol and other companies) may help, as well as applying ice in a wet towel or bag for 10 to 15 minutes at a time.
I hope I have been of some help to you, and remain available if you have any further questions!
