Should I bring my baby's vaccinations forward for travel?

Hello ! We are planning a trip to Portugal and Spain. Our baby will be 8 months old. Should I (or rather can I...) bring forward his measles vaccines (given at 12 months) How long before the departure?

Hello Madam, thank you for your question!
Vaccination before the age of 12 months is only recommended if you are going to an area where measles is endemic or epidemic, which is not the case for Portugal, but it is for Spain, according to today's data from the INSPQ
It is therefore recommended to vaccinate the child between 6 and 11 months of age. Please note, however, that the vaccine may not be as effective as if your child receives it at 12 months of age, so he or she will need to receive 2 more doses separated by at least 4 weeks after the age of 1 year.
You should schedule the vaccination as soon as possible.
Sincerely
