Hello Ma'am,
There are several things that can help you in this pandemic moment. It is normal to experience stress.
As mentioned by our prime minister, "You have to remember that this is temporary. What's reassuring is that we're all in this together. We will help each other. We're going to support each other. It's going to be okay."
First of all, I would suggest cutting back on social media, and newscasts (the news!). They can bring you a good deal of stress with all the sensationalized information. If you have any questions about the Coronavirus, don't hesitate to call us, we can give you the facts about health and medication. If you just want a daily update, you can listen to the press conferences of the premiers at noon, or consult the Coronavirus (COVID-19) page of Quebec.ca, the official website of the Quebec government. You will get real information.
Second, take time to manage your stress by doing a relaxing activity, such as yoga, meditation or walking. More intense physical activity can also help you release stress. You can find many of these online. Whether you work or not, it's very important to keep yourself fit!
Third, you need to maintain good sleep hygiene. To do this, as mentioned above, physical activity is important. Turning off screens 30-45 minutes before bedtime is also important for a good night's sleep.
Fourth, talk to your loved ones! Without making ourselves fearful, discussing it and verbalizing our anxiety/stress can help reduce these feelings (by choosing the right person).
Fifth, some very well-designed apps can greatly help manage this stress, such as Sanvello and Rose Buddha. Don't hesitate to try them out.
Finally, if you are unable to function or this stress and/or anxiety is very (too) present, it is best to make an appointment with your doctor.
Don't hesitate if you have any other questions, we're here. You can also contact 1-877-644-4545 for questions about the coronavirus.
Happy day,
