Is it normal that my ovulation test has been positive for 4 days?

My ovulation test is positive with the same color for 4 days (not darker or lighter). I always do the tests at the same time. I did a pregnancy test but more cheap and not early and it is negative. I'm supposed to have my period technically on January 22

Actually, this is if I take into consideration that my cycle is 33 days long as it has been since before my last pregnancy (I gave birth 3 months ago). But maybe my cycle is shorter. Can I be pregnant? I'm not taking any contraception and I want to conceive again

Hello Ma'am,
Most ovulation tests do not tell you exactly what day you ovulate, but rather detect a rise in the hormones that cause ovulation. This rise can actually be detected for more than one day (even if you ovulate only once).
That said, in your situation with a fairly recent pregnancy ending, the test may not be reliable. This is especially true if you are breastfeeding.

thanks for the reply!
I did an ovulation test again this morning and it is negative...so can I take for granted that the hormone spike lasted 4-5 days? Or since my delivery is recent it is not even 100% sure?
to add some info, I only pump 2-3 times a day.

In fact, this soon after a delivery, we're not even sure if the tests really measured a return of ovulation.
What is certain is that if you ovulated this month, then that ovulation is now over.
Happy day,
