Hello, thank you for your question!
In general, cough syrups have not been shown to be any more effective than drinking lots of fluids... Or even taking a teaspoon of honey.
Coughs are most often caused by runny noses from the back. The best solution to decrease this is by performing nasal hygiene with a saline solution, like Hydrasense or Sinus Rinse among others.
Cleaning the secretions from the front can prevent them from flowing out the back and thus better decrease the coughing. It's a bit of an unpleasant technique but it works hyper well!!
As a result I don't suggest syrups simply for lack of effectiveness and also because they often don't address the cause of the problem.
Hopefully I've helped you, don't hesitate if you have any other questions!

In fact, drinking more fluids would be a good option for coughing, and a little honey can also help.
Nasal hygiene is the most commonly used and in most cases most effective solution to prevent coughing.
Hopefully I have been helpful, I remain available if there is anything
