Hello, for a few weeks I have had a wet cough following a bronchitis which takes time to go away. I sleep very badly at night. I am already taking Effexor as well as omeprazole.

Hello, you can try either helixia or a syrup with guaifenesin. However, you should know that the effectiveness of syrups is limited.
It is important to drink a lot of water to facilitate the evacuation of secretions.
Have a good day

Thank you very much for your quick answer!
following your answer I went to the pharmacy. Not finding the syrup you mentioned, I asked the pharmacist explaining my situation and that I was taking effexor.
he recommended a guaifenesin based syrup and said that there was no interaction.
i'm confused, that's not what I read on the internet

Don't worry, there is no problem with this ingredient. You can take it with effexor

Thank you very much ☺️
and Another small question related to my situation.. can I take a decongestant medication like advil cold and sinus?
big thanks again to you , I really appreciate your professionalism and quick answers !!!

Yes you can if the product contains only a decongestant and advil.
The ingredient to avoid is dextrometorphan (DM)
However, if you are taking omeprazole for heartburn, it would be better to try tylenol sinus to limit the risk of digestive side effects.
