What can I do to help him when he seems uncomfortable and how can I prevent it?

I think my newborn is constipated. He cries when he lies on his back and it calms down when he manages to fart. He has finally pooped. The last one was 48 hours ago. Note that he takes iron and vitamin D supplements every day. He was born on August 9th 2021. At 35 weeks of pregnancy.

Hello,
Episodes of constipation are frequent in newborns, especially because of their immature digestive system. Better hydration can alleviate this problem, without however solving it completely. To promote better hydration, it is possible to dilute the milk with water, especially in very hot periods when the baby loses more water through sweating.
Iron supplementation also causes constipation. Ask your baby's doctor if iron is necessary.
Unfortunately, your baby is still too young to receive laxatives. However, from 6 months of age, lax-a-day, available over the counter at the pharmacy, can help soften stools.
I hope that my advice will help you, and I wish you a good day!
I hope to see you soon!
