I have had a late period for 9 days and I tested negative. Can I be pregnant? Can I call for a blood test?

I am trying for a baby, I have been off the pill for 9 months and I have never been late (cycle between 28-30 days usually) now I am on day 37. I don't have any symptoms as such except that I often have cramps and points in my belly and sometimes lower back pain. I have done all types of tests (FR, clearblue, dollo)

Hello!
A period delay of 9 days could possibly mean pregnancy, but it could also just be a normal delay in your period. Some factors that may delay your period are: stress, strenuous physical activity, and recent weight loss.
For the pregnancy test to be valid, you should wait 3 weeks after unprotected sex during the ovulation period. You would normally be in the optimal period to take the pregnancy test. It is important to do the test with the first morning urine, otherwise you could get a false negative result. You also have to be careful not to use just any pregnancy test, with those sold in pharmacies being the most reliable.
For blood tests, you would have to contact your doctor so that he or she can determine if they would really be necessary. In my opinion, the pregnancy test would be sufficient for now.
Aside from the lower belly cramps and lower back pain, do you have a fever, difficulty urinating, or a feeling of always wanting to?
I look forward to hearing from you!

Hello, no I don't have any problems on the urinary side. I still don't have my period and I test negative with the pharmacy tests. I don't have a family doctor anymore so I may try at the walk-in this week. Is it possible to still be pregnant even if I test negative as well?

It's not impossible, indeed. Did you do your test with the first morning's urine?

Most tests yes with the first morning urine

Perfect!
In such a case, one will retest in the morning every 3 days until it becomes positive or the period starts.
The blood test is not necessary in my opinion.
Good end of the day,
Alexander
