Hello Ma'am,
Usually, one does not consult for a simple cough in a 2 year old if the child does not have a fever. We'll even wait a few days (e.g., 3) before going to see a doctor when the fever is spiking.
Instead, we try to reduce the cough by fixing the problem at its root, which is to say, by decreasing as much as possible the amount of mucus present in his nose (which runs down his throat and causes him to drip).
