Premenopause and menopause may be related to increased fibromyalgia pain?

53-year-old womana year ago
Hello, I have been suffering from fibromyalgia for 15 years. I am 52 years old, I had very severe fibromyalgia for 7 years, I got better with the hypotoxic diet of 75%, but now I have started to suffer a lot again for the last 2 years, I am close to menopause. Thank you for answering me!

Hello Mrs., I'm sorry to read about your troubles!
If you don't have pre-menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, irritability, difficulty with sleep, etc., it is difficult to say. I have found references that the onset of menopause can be accompanied by a deterioration of fibromyalgia, but this is mostly related to its effect on sleep and it is not yet concrete data. It is also important to keep in mind that the symptoms of fibromyalgia are multifactorial and it is difficult to pinpoint a single cause.
If your pain has become so severe that it prevents you from functioning as you used to or affects your quality of life, I think you should talk to your doctor.
I hope I've been helpful and I'm available if you have any further questions
