Medication with private insurance or RAMQ?

Hemangiol/ propanolol Mixed Hemangioma on eyelids Baby girl 6 months Already covered 100% RAMQ On the internet I saw that it is not necessarily covered by all private insurance? Why would the RAMQ pay 100% and not have? Isn't it supposed to be better? ( spouse ( dad ) who risks having private group insurance at his new job )

Good morning, ma'am,
I'll check this out and get back to you briefly!

Hello again,
Hemangiol is an exception drug for which the prescriber must fill out a form and send it to the RAMQ to evaluate the coverage of the drug.
In Quebec, private insurers must provide drug coverage that is at least equivalent to the public plan. Therefore, an insurer may either cover the drug or require a formulary just like the RAMQ. Your spouse will need to check with his or her insurer for the terms of coverage.
As written, drugs are usually covered at 100% for children (among others), but this may not be the case for private insurers. Again, your spouse will need to check with the insurer.
Sincerely,
Tom Samaha, pharmacist

And how does he find out? By phone?
i usually handle that at home. He just told me that he took the family superior insurance

You will need to contact your private insurer, either by phone or if they have an electronic platform

okay, and do we usually get one or two cards in the mail for the insurance? Or do we print them by email?
do you have to wait to receive everything to unregister from the RAMQ?

I can't tell you what you will receive, it depends on your insurer. I invite you to get these details from your spouse and the insurer
As soon as you have the confirmation of registration or the exact date of registration, you can unregister from the RAMQ
