When we look at the label, the main active ingredient in Total Control is tea and coffee extracts including caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant. Taking a stimulant can increase anxiety, nervousness and decrease sleep if taken too late in the day. So, I didn't mean to say that the Total Control product decreases the antidepressant effectiveness of citalopram. Simply, if Citalopram is taken for anxiety and/or nervousness, which is one of the indications of this medication, it is certain that the Total Control product does not help to control one's health condition. In fact, each capsule contains the caffeine equivalent of a filter coffee. Since the company recommends taking 3 capsules per day, this is equivalent to taking 3 more coffees per day, which is not negligible in terms of caffeine. Finally, in a weight loss context, is this product effective? By browsing the company's website, we can see that the company has never done any studies on its product, so its effectiveness has never been proven. By doing a research on the ingredients, we can see that the ginger and pomegranate extracts have not been studied in this context. For caffeine and green tea, I found a study on the subject from 2010 that reviewed the available data. On average, the weight loss associated with taking caffeine and green tea extracts over 12 weeks was about 2 pounds... So, I'll let you be the judge of the product.
