Is it possible to be intolerant or allergic to ibuprofen (dizziness, increased heart rate, and swelling of the face)?

Last week, I took Robax Platinum twice, because I had pain in my neck and wrist (posture at work). My heart was beating faster, I was dizzy. I drank a lot of water, went to bed and the next day it was better. Yesterday, I took a Motrin (telling myself that the Robax was too strong for me). Same thing happened: heart palpitations, dizziness and this time I felt tingling on one side of my face, as if it was numb with the upper lip a little swollen. I drank a lot of water, took a Benadryl and went to bed. Now everything is fine. Note that I have taken these before and never had these symptoms. I am not known to have a heart condition either. I do have an allergy to penicillin though and I take Pantroprazole every day. Otherwise, no known health problems. Thank you for enlightening me.

Hello Ma'am,
Yes, it is possible!
Ibuprofen allergy is well documented. Usually, the reaction would get stronger and stronger the more you take a dose again. Therefore, I recommend that you do not :)
Simply substitute Tylenol™ (acetaminophen) in the future!"
I also encourage you to share the information with your doctor and pharmacist!"
Happy evening :)
