Hello!
It is possible that jewelry causes contact dermatitis, which can resemble the symptoms described. Indeed, the nickel present in some jewelry can be the cause of the problem. What is strange is that the problem appeared 3 years later .... Could there be another cause? Could a new one for example or a product to clean the jewelry be the cause?
- Common causes of contact dermatitis: soap, perfume, cream, chemicals (at work for example), plants, metals (like in jewelry), cosmetics, etc.
Treatment consists of eliminating the causative element. So if you can't find any other cause, remove your rings
Secondly, water bells are at risk of becoming infected. Do not pierce the bell because it protects the wound. If it does pierce, you can apply an antibiotic ointment such as "Polysporin" and cover with a bandage. Also watch for signs of infection: redness that progresses, swelling, purulent discharge (colored, thick). If you are not sure, come and show us.
For itching, it is possible to apply a cortisone cream or ointment (e.g. Cortate 0.5%) morning and night but it is not recommended to apply it on the water bell
Hopefully this is clear,
Do not hesitate if you have any other questions!
