Decreased menstrual volume?

My menstruation has decreased a lot (impossible to put a tampon, because menstrual flow is too small...). Normal or consult a doctor? Pill - Alese Hello! I am 24 years old, 5'5, 130 lbs, I have been taking the contraceptive pill since I was 18 years old, I have not been sexually active for the past 2 years and I notice that my menstrual period has decreased a lot (impossible to put in a tampon, because the menstrual flow is too small...). Is this normal or should I consult a doctor? Thank you, this is a great service! :)

Hello, and thank you for your question!
The menstrual cycle can vary over time. Some people are a little more sensitive, for example when the contraceptive is taken a little late, during periods of stress or illness, or when there is a change in schedule. In general, in young and healthy women, the cycle can return to normal after 3 to 6 months, if not less
However, I invite you to consult a doctor if your situation exceeds 6 months or if it is accompanied by other symptoms (e.g. large weight fluctuation that cannot be explained, or other).
I hope this helps, and don't hesitate if you have any other questions!
