Do I have to keep taking the medication to get my system used to it? It has been explained to me before that this family of drugs causes these types of side effects but I need a solution.

Hello, thank you for your question! Indeed it can cause diarrhea. Would it be possible to know at what dose you take it, and since when?

In fact, I don't take it because as soon as I take it the diarrhea comes back instantly, as I was explaining to you, I unfortunately didn't persist, should I do it? I was taking it in the morning and the dose is 40mg.

Thanks for the feedback!
According to the information I have, there are a few options here. I strongly encourage you to contact your pharmacist to evaluate your needs: a decrease in dose could be tried, 20mg tablets exist. Be careful, it is important NOT to cut your 40mg tablets in 2!
Otherwise, other alternatives in the same family as pantoprazole exist, your pharmacist could contact your doctor to suggest some, if deemed relevant.
The other options are just as effective, and may be better tolerated.
