Hi, I just found out that I have gestational diabetes. I would like to know what I can take for my sore throat... I used to take honey lozenges but this is sweet and I don't think I can continue to take them... Thanks for your answer!

Hello !
Congratulations on your pregnancy! It is true that it is best to avoid lozenges containing sugar after a diagnosis of gestational diabetes. If you absolutely want a lozenge, it is best to look for a sugar-free formulation designed specifically for people with diabetes. Several companies produce them and you can easily find them in pharmacies. In general, most lozenges are safe during pregnancy. However, their effectiveness can be limited and it is sometimes better to turn to acetaminophen which is the analgesic of choice in pregnancy and this for all trimesters!
I hope I have answered your question,
Have a nice day!
