Hello, I am 6 weeks pregnant and currently only taking folic acid. I have not yet seen a doctor for my pregnancy follow-up.

Hello,
We recommend that most pregnant women start taking a multivitamin containing folic acid as soon as possible. Since there are several multivitamins on the market (e.g. Materna, Centrum prenatal, Jamieson prenatal), the choice of a multivitamin will depend on several factors, including your medical history and your folic acid needs. Your local pharmacist can do this analysis with you and prescribe the multivitamin that is right for you. I recommend that you go see your pharmacist, who will ask you several questions and assess your needs.
Note that your pharmacist can also prescribe anti-nausea and anti-vomiting medication while you wait for your medical appointment.
