I forgot to take my Synthroid for 4 consecutive days. Is this serious?

I have a complete lack of thyroid and finished my dose but didn't have time to go to the pharmacy, or I forgot to go to the pharmacy to refill my prescription for 4 days online.

Synthroid has a fairly long duration of action, so missing 1-2 doses occasionally should not be a problem, but I would advise you to take your dose as soon as possible given the important functions associated with this hormone, but not to double or quadruple the dose. Tom Samaha, Pharmacist
