Since 24 hours, a small mass of less than one cm appeared on one of my labia majora (vaginal). What should I do?

It's painful when I touch it. It's red with a blackened tint on the surface. I eliminate the hypothesis of ingrown hair, because I cut the hair (no shaving or waxing). Maybe an abscess? I have never had one. I'm also quite ++ hypochondriac so I'm afraid it could be a malignant tumor.... I don't want to wait too long before consulting.

Hello Ma'am,
Sorry for the delay in responding.
The most common cause of such symptoms is bartholinitis (inflammation of a Bartholin gland). To fix the problem, we usually try heat application to the large lip to try to get it to drain on its own. Have you tried anything since yesterday?

Effectively, I applied a hot compress twice on Thursday. The pain is much less when I touch it. But there is still a small, almost painless lump still.
However, this Bartholin gland is more located towards the anus if I am not mistaken? My lump seems to be more in the center of my large lip...
I'm less worried since the pain has dissipated, but the remaining "bit of flesh" has me wondering.
Thanks for the follow up :)

In fact, the glands are located at the bottom of the vaginal entrance. However, when they swell, they tend to move up to the middle of the labia majora.
I recommend that you continue to apply a washcloth of lukewarm water when you are able.
If the flesh lump is still present on Tuesday, we'll go see a doctor.
Good evening :)
