I have been having hemorrhoids for a few weeks and it hurts

First, it will assure us that you are not constipated (and will not become constipated), as this will help bring your hemorrhoids back. To do this, I often recommend the use of powder found in pharmacies (PEG 3350) that goes by the name of Lax-A-Day™ or Relaxa™.

Then, one would get a "sitz bath", that piece of plastic available at the drugstore that fits on the toilet seat and helps relieve some pressure in the hemorrhoidal veins. For maximum results, warm water should be added to a very large quantity of salt. The salt will tend to draw the water out of the hemorrhoids, reducing their size and helping them heal. We will use the seat about 2 times a day.

Finally, we will take out the tube of Preparation H and apply after every sitz bath, every shower and every bowel movement.

If it does not improve your situation within 7 days, we will go to a doctor.
