My 3 year old daughter took 10 days of amoxicillin for ear infections. She finished on Thursday and since she took her last dose she has had hives. What should I do?

This may be an allergic reaction, but given the long delay between the first dose of the medication and the onset of the hives, it is best to wait for confirmation from an allergist before concluding that she is allergic (she may not be in my opinion).

For now, and to alleviate these symptoms, I would recommend giving her Benadryl™ and bathing her with Aveeno™ itch product. If the patches are still present in 2 days, you will need to see a doctor.
