I have been told that the BCG vaccine I received as a child has changed my DNA. Is this credible?

Hello Sir,
I was able to find a small study on the subject. Indeed, the BCG vaccine would have some effect on human DNA. The effect would be on gene expression, rather than a mutation or rearrangement of your DNA. Your body will therefore express more of the genes that code for immune cells. This change is even associated with a good response to the vaccine. These changes are associated, in the laboratory, with better control over the bacteria that cause TB. However, in the study, the changes were no longer present after 8 months.
The vaccine would therefore have an effect on DNA, however this effect is not toxic and even appears to be beneficial for protection against infection. Here is a link to the study in question: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5615063/pdf/41598_2017_Article_12110.pdf

Thank you very much. It's interesting to know that people here can answer our questions, as our web searches are sometimes dicey.
