Hello, what should I do if I think I have irritable vaginitis? Thank you

I feel a slight irritation, which could look like vaginitis. I've never had it before so it's hard to be sure. I recently finished my period, and used (by mistake) a scented sanitary pad. So I don't think it's a bacterial or urinary infection, as I don't seem to have any other symptoms (i.e. no discharge/odour/it doesn't burn when I urinate). Will this sensation go away on its own? How long will it take to go to the doctor if it doesn't go away? Thanks

Good morning, Madam,
In general, the use of a scented sanitary pad can lead to irritation of the vulva, which is called vulvitis. At this time, you can keep the area clean by wiping after urinating and wash the vaginal area with water only (no soap). For the next 3-5 days, you can monitor the evolution of the symptoms (appearance of odor, vaginal discharge, burning, pain, frequent urination, blood) and go to see a doctor if the symptoms worsen.
I hope that I have answered your question,
