Hello, my boyfriend had small white pimples on his penis and was red on the glans. After a week it went away is it a fungus?

Hello,
In order to answer properly, I would need some clarification
Is there any itching?
Is there any kind of discharge coming from the urethra (yellow or green)?

For the moment, it is difficult to say what it was. Indeed, it could have been a fungus. In general, in a fungus infection on the glans (called balanitis), there is itching, redness of the glans and irritation. It may have gone away on its own, but it's something to watch out for
If any of the symptoms come back, you should definitely talk to me again or he should contact his doctor
I hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate

Since the outbreak we have started having protected sex again to make sure it's not, for example, herpes or another itss. Do you think there is a chance that it could be that, knowing that we have been together for almost 1 year and that this summer I had an HIV test that was negative. Do you think we can start having unprotected sex again without it being dangerous or is it better to go get tested? Thank you very much for your answers!

If it had been herpes, there would indeed have been a very swollen pimple (maybe even more than one). Maybe the pubic area would have been affected too. The main feature would have been pain. During an episode of genital herpes, the pain is sometimes so intense that even underwear creates pain
With another STI such as chlamydia or gonorrhea, redness is noticeable, but also discharge from the urethra (white, yellow or green).
In the case of balanitis, it is not necessarily transmissible during sexual relations
So if at any time your boyfriend has had significant pain or discharge, a test would be recommended
In the case where only redness was present (with some itching), you could in my opinion wait a 7 days to be safe and you could resume having unprotected sex afterwards.
