I have pain in my knees, because I have arthritis. I was taking turmeric which helped me with that.

Hello!
So that I can better answer your question, could you tell me what medications you are currently taking?

I take
  • Tylenol (pain)
  • Aspirin
  • Zolpidem (insomnia)
  • Calcium
  • Vitamin D
  • Dexamethasone (cancer)
  • Revlimid (cancer)
  • Pantoprazole (stomach)

Thank you! It is true that some data supports the use of turmeric to improve symptoms associated with osteoarthritis
However, beyond its anti-inflammatory effects, turmeric also has anti-coagulant and anti-platelet properties that thin the blood and increase the risk of bleeding. Since you are already taking aspirin (an anti-platelet drug that thins the blood) and Revlimid which can also decrease the platelet count in the blood (thus increasing the risk of bleeding) I would recommend avoiding turmeric as much as possible in your case. Also, the impact of turmeric when taken with Revlimid is not known.
For these reasons, I would prefer to take acetaminophen (Tylenol) for your pain
