The presence of diarrhea accompanied by fever is a sign to go to the doctor (and not to use Imodium™). This is because there is a risk that the fever is coming from the body trying to protect itself from a virus, bacteria or parasite that is currently in the gut. So the body produces fever to help fight that bacteria, in addition to trying to get it out as quickly as possible by causing diarrhea.
