Heartburn during pregnancy what medication can I take?

I have severe heartburn and I am pregnant. Is there a medication I can take to relieve it?

Products like Tums, Gaviscon and others can provide quick but short term relief. If the situation is more frequent, I suggest a product like Zantac or Pepcid that can last 8-12 hours. All of these options are safe with your medications and every trimester.
Avoid heavy, fatty or acidic foods (juice, coffee, spices, etc.) and large meals. Also, avoid eating too close to bedtime.
If the situation persists for more than 2 weeks, it would be appropriate to talk to your doctor.
