A pimple appeared inside the big lip of my vagina, I don't have any itching but if I press on the pimple it is painful

I have had the same sexual partner for 5 years exclusively. No history of STIs on either side. And I have protected myself with all my other partners before that. I once had a similar pimple, which went away in 2 or 3 days. I don't have any vaginal discharge, itching or other symptoms, it's only painful to the touch. I would like to know what the cause is and if it can be contagious.

Hello!
The pharmacist is not qualified to diagnose. Therefore, it is difficult to determine the cause, especially without seeing the actual pimple.
If in doubt, I would advise you to protect yourself for the time being when having sex. If there is a risk of contact despite the condom, avoid sex for now.
If you don't have any systemic symptoms (fever, general malaise, etc.) and the pain is mild, you could try sitz baths 3-4 times a day for 10-15 minutes to ease the pain. If it is a blocked gland or an irritation injury, this may help. If the symptoms get worse, don't improve in 48 hours or progress, see a doctor.
If you are concerned about this, it would be best to consult to have your questions answered.
Happy evening!
Marie-Laurence Gauthier, pharmacist.
