Has Contrave, a new drug approved by Health Canada, made its way into Quebec?

According to the information available on the website of the company that commercializes Contrave, this product should soon appear on the Quebec market. However, this does not seem to be the case yet.

This medication uses a synergistic effect of two well-known drugs, namely naltrexone ("antidote" for opioid intoxication) and bupropion (used in smoking cessation). We can therefore affirm that the weight loss observed in the clinical studies that brought this product to the market is the result of an effect on the brain's neurotransmitters. The expected side effects are essentially those of bupropion (agitation, nervousness, insomnia, heartache, etc.). It should be noted that the exact mode of action of the drug is not known at this time.
