What is the recommended time between stopping Methotrexate and becoming pregnant? In anticipation of a new pregnancy, is it advisable to take a folic acid supplement at a higher dosage (5mg rather than 1mg)?

The optimal time between the cessation of methotrexate in either partner and the onset of pregnancy has not been clearly established. In the literature, the recommended time varies from 3 to 12 months.

Concerning folic acid I hope you took folic acid concomitantly during the treatment with methotrexate, there are specific populations that are given a dose of 5 mg also if diabetic pt.... it is up to your Md gynecologist to decide
