For the past few months, around 5:00 a.m., while I am sleeping, my heart starts beating faster and I have violent twinges in the back of my head?

I am a 60 year old retired woman. I ride my bicycle 3 times a week for 12 kilometers each time, which is 36 kilometers a week. I also do a spinal gymnastics class once a week. I have gained weight with menopause, I am not obese but I am heavier than before menopause. Because of this weight gain I have been taking medication for pressure, synthroid and crestor for a few years.

Hello ma'am, thank you for your question, but the situation you describe requires a physician's attention. In fact, only doctors can provide a diagnosis and I think we need a clear diagnosis before we attempt any treatment option. Otherwise, we risk causing negative effects without the benefits of treatment, in addition to causing a delay in addressing your current situation.
I am sorry I cannot help you at this time.
Happy day,

Not easy to see a doctor! I haven't been able to see mine in person in almost 18 months. Indeed it is not a diagnosis that I wanted but only one to know if there was anything to worry about. I will try to see my doctor (it is not easy). Thanks anyway!
